The new Peter Gabriel album "Up" is out now. I read a review that said it wasn't so good, but I bought it anyway. It's awesome!!! It goes on my list of some of the best electro albums ever made. It's not strictly "electro", but I'm not complaining. He has been in the business of making good albums longer than many of you have been alive. I like it. Interested samples and signal processing going on in there.

Also, I recently obtained a copy of "Boots" the KMFDM EP. The first track is so-so, but it gets better. The remix versions step up and demonstrate some good old fashioned dance music. The final song, "<b>Back in the U.S.S.R</b>"
is really totally representative of advancements in contemporary electronic music production. This is also a great example of how stereo image clarity can challenge even surround sound. This is one of the best songs I have ever heard. Of course, I'm biased, but I'm pretty sure lots of you will like this too. The flavor is right. KMFDM blatently point out support for ProTools and Logic, so you can set your mind to wonder just what tricks they are pulling that you or I could do if we tried hard enough.

Sure, this site's all about software, but if you can't apply your ears to it, then it ain't worth it. Consider new music a part of your musical education. Even if you hear these albums and hate them, at least you'll know what to watch out for in your own mixes.

Music Ist Macht!

PG...

Peter Gabriel is one of my most admired people. He is the only one from Genesis that still appears to care about the emotion of music making and performing.

I have however avoided buying his album up to this point as I would hate to taint my love of the man with a So-so album... I'll take your recommendation on board though. It's probably worth buying just to give the man some well deserved recognition.
