Hardware for Protools Free

I am curently using Protools Free, with limited success, on a 350MHz P2 w/512MB RAM the sound card is intagrated w/ the mother board.

I am in the market to buy a new computer & would like to gear it toward use with this software. Does anyone have any hardware recomendations i.e. sound card, amount of ram,hard drive type & speed ect.... Also what OS seems to work best with this software.

Pro Tools Purchase???!!!!

As a longtime Mac owner and Pro Tools user, I can't help but suggest that since you are at the point of buying a new computer, that you should get a Mac. I also suggest that you get at least a Digi001. They are a little cheaper now. I have a G4 and a Digi001, and it's an amazing set up., The sound is great and it's really hard to beat price wise for the quality that you get.

Sofar my Windows ME can't read any sound file through my WaMirac

I just install WaMirack 192 L sound card hardware on my PC (Windows ME) and also the drivers. WaMiRack Consol controler shows signals of sound going in, but no sound is going out. When i try to read Mp3 files or Audio CDs no sounds neither.
In "Control panel" > "System" > "Device Manager" at "Sound, video and game controler" we can see Wamirack drivers are there.
In "System" > "Sound and audio device manager" at "Audio tab" Wamirack driver are also selected.
So what is the problem...?
I'll be happy to read some advice.

Chords and Sequencer

Hello folks,
I need a software which can play chords of lead sheets. It should enable me to create a lead sheets by entering a chord sequence and play it in loops, like a virtual piano player.
Please contact me if someone has a good hint.

I'm not sure what you mean by a leadsheet but Cubase SX and Orion Platinum both have Auto chord functions

Hi, I'm new here and I have a question about mixing audio tracks. Is there a way to send a specific track into a surround speaker. For example, if I have a home theater system with 2 front speakers, 1 center speaker and 2 surround speakers. I record a song containing multiple tracks (1 for the drums, one for the bass, one for the guitar and one for the keyboard.) If i want to send the guitar in to the SURROUND LEFT speaker, How do i do it?

I can't get into my musicmatch jutebox to listen to my tunes. The screen pops up an error report. Another screen says that I don't have enough "rights" to run the program. I've been using it since December and now it acts like it's not even on my computer.

i used to be able to get onto jutebox just fine, now a screen pops up saying that an entry point isnt found --or something like that...was there something i was supposed to install

Hi. I am having real trouble getting music to my MP3 player from Music Match. It's probably me because I'm really not that computer literate. My son't friend taught me how to download music and I go do that. I put it into an MP 3 folder and can move the music to MUSIC MATCH JUTEBOX but then I get lost. I can't seem to move the music to the MP3 player. Is there anyone who can help me out? I am a runner and use my music to run every few days but without it I'm lost and so unhappy. Thanks anyone.

I recenly had my hard drive pack up on me, and can't get my musicmatch plus, i can only get basic. now i have purchased plus and here is my patrtics:

registration for drag and drop failed and its saying ive preformed an illegal operation and will be shut down witch it has what need to be done to fix this error

I need help converting an ACD file to an MP3 file on Acid Pro 4.

Well, Everytime I try to convert an ACD file on Acid Pro, I always end up with an MP3 that goes like 50 million times the tempo of the original recording. Can someone please help me and point me in the correct direction on converting. It's starting to piss me off. I need the mp3's for posting on mp3.com to advertise my band.

Chimpmunks bothering you?

You are probably saving your mp3 as an mp3 pro file, or converting it at a rate lower than the industry standard of 44 khz.

When you play a lower frequency recording at a higher rate of speed, you get chimpmunks. It's kinda like an LP played at 45 speed.

If I remember correctly, it is called a sampling rate??

Couls someone please tell me what diagnostic techniques i need to use to determine a room's acoustic characteristics. I am familiar with RT60, absoption co-efficiencies and acoustical isolation, but do not know how to calculate them and in what order. I need this in as black&White terms as possible.

You probably need the DivX player which will decode the AVI files for you. The AVI files were probably encoded using the DIVX codec. You can get the player at <a href="http://www.divx.com/divx/">http://www.divx.com/divx/</a>

Hi Everyone,
just a question or two I would love to hear advice on this - I would like to embark on creating a web page for my music and teaching - For someone of average computer skill is Dream weaver mx or Go-live 6 the best program - also I have adobe acrobat writer 5 ias that usable with go-live - obviously I have NO Idea , its early days - please help !!!!
Also is it possible to just purchase one of the above programs and then creat and POSt a web page - thanX TAK - sorry for the ignorance on we design

I'm using dreamweaver, and love it, does everything for you (apart from the design :o) ... and it has an ftp thingy that makes it really easy to post (upload) your site ... photoshop is cool for the graphics ... but same with everything, you gotta have patience to succeed, and don't forget to check the Help - especially good in DW ...
