American Idol For Kids!

I think that there should be a Kids american idol so kids can get the chance of a lifetime too..... and i would like to be on kids american idol becuase evry one i know says i have a great voice

I totally agree. I have been singing since I was like 5. I sing at chruch, school, and am planning on trying out for a community musical in the spring. I totally think that kids should get a chance to show their talent too. I'm not that young like a KID anymore, I'm 15, but still, I'm not quite old enough for normal American Idol, but I would love to get my chance. I'm not that great in school, and music makes me feel really good about myself. It's the one thing I am really confident in. I would LOVE to have an American Idol for kids.

so many people (kids) that i know are tremendous singers and have no place to show off their talents. so i think there needs to be a kids american idol.but i think that there should be a tryout in just about every state then everyone can try out.

cakewalk question for rookie

I don't know if this question is too simple or too dificult. what is the easiest way to export out a midi with one voice, meaning that you should only have one instrument playing at any one time. You could have both drums and guitar, for instance, but they can't be played at the same time. is there an easy way to set this up? do i have to go in and edit the music? can someone please offer some help or even a little bit of direction, meaning is there a specific term that this is called. thank you so much.

I am currently running Pro Tools LE and am able to import MIDI files from other music programs. Is there a way to convert MIDI to WAV (and then burn to CD) using Pro Tools?

'm not sure if you can get what you want done as Pro Tools exists now. Maybe you can. Like, maybe you can record the Quicktime output of the Mid files. However, I have another suggestion. If I were doing this with my setup, I'd bring in the Midi as a series of standard midi files. Then I'd use Plugsound or even Sampletank and assign it different midi instruments and record the audio it to disk. Then mix it all together when I'm done.

Reason Sound Bank problems

I got reason to recognize the orkester cd but when I burn the rfl file of the factory sound bank on cd it won't recognize it. Its 530mb large and a .rfl file...Do I have to name the cd something in order for it to recognize? or what should I do?

I have a applemac version of the 'Orkester soundbank' on my Windows 2000 harddrive. Is there a way I can bypass the cd boot at the biggining of Reason 2.5 with copy on my harddrive?

I have installed Reason 2.5 on Windows 2000 but I have lost the 'orkester soundbank cd' asked for when u start the program. I did make a copy onto my hard drive but it was copied from a Applemac version of the cd. Is there any way I can by pass the cd input considering my copy is on the hard drive?

Welllllll...Once youre shure U got the right file then U need to find a proggie to "properly" rename the file to "Factory Sound Bank.rfl".[I won't tell U every detail cumon... ;') ]TIP:U would know U got it right when the Icon changes to look like the reason logo.Then Burn to a cd named "SOUND CD" Have fun.

how do you expect us to put a space in the cd label? do you mean "soundcd"? I've found another post where I was told to label it "sound bank" but that has a space in it too and nero won't let you do that.

re news article: falling music sales

Maybe it's not all about targeting the various "demographics" with the proper spin to sell unoriginal tripe or regurgitated artists (although many legends among them). Perhaps the record industries should give the music buying public some credit as intelligent human beings, and stop telling them what they want and instead listen to what they want. I propose a boycott of all music that is heavily merchandised and unoriginal. Instead look to independant labels whether you enjoy rock music, dance or indie (another gripe i have with the music industry- the need to categorise everything into easily digestible groups). Go to local band nights and support local talent. Take more of an interest in independant labels and realise that there is much more amazing music out there than what is being spoon-fed to you in the charts or tunes that make every play-list in the country and are incessantly played. I know many gifted original musicians who struggle to get noticed, playing wherever they can for nothing or a crate of beer, and why? Because record industry executives don't give a damn if you can't be neatly packaged with promising profit margins. Forget longevity. They want your money. NOW.

But with the amount of artists that stiff and/or sell millions, couldn't you also accept that the public does have some choice/taste when it comes to what music they buy or listen to?

You used to be able to download the boot disk image
from akaipro.com, but I just went there and the site
doesn't seem to exist.

Perhaps someone reading this has a copy, let us know
and we'll make it available on this web site.
