looking for help on music printer plus

Novice's Music Software Query

I wonder if anyone can help me...
I am a church minister trying to do something which I thought would be an easy job!
I simply need to produce a line of vocal music with lyrics underneath. The music I am entering is irregular (ie no bar lines, taken from plainchant originals). I have tried many of the programs on here but they will not let me enter music without a time signature. Also i need to vary the text style of the lyrics throughout the piece which I do not seem to be able to do.
HELP! I am not a musician and would be glad of any (polite!) advice.

How to partition your system for better audio work

Nevermind the script kiddies. Anybody interested in how to partition their hard drive(s) for audio might be interested in the March 2003 edition of Sound On Sound. Page 87 (i think) describes the benefits and hurdles of drive partitioning.

Sure, that's already an old issue, but it's pretty cool. I hate all of the ads for products, but they're inevitable and ultimately the glue that holds the reviews are articles together.

Unfortunately, Sound On Sound did not describe how to partition and back up a Mac drive system. I'm pretty sure I once explained how to do it here once before, so I won't repeat.

In other news, there is no news.

Most would agree that art and music go together as the "arts," but in fact, music and dance go together since it is rare to be able to have one without the other, by virtue of the fact that when people hear music they often prefer to dance because of the rhythm they feel. So, in order to have a good economy for musicians, there must be a good economy for dance. A good economy for dance is the promotion of dance as not only acceptable but vital to health and energy. In a world where weak muscles as with the increasing elderly population, it is critical to encourage such activities for good healthy, muscles, and motivation to resist the temptation to become sedate, and inactive, and consequently, unhealthy, increasing demands on the health care system. Like music and dance, there are many such alliances beween different industries which are interdependent upon each other. This is widely known among the film, manufacturing and service industry, but is less well recognized in the arts communities who not only need audiences but also need performers, etc. Cultivation of this "back end" business can be done quietly hoping to increase profits, sustainability or interest, or it can be done prominently, and boldly, in a context which identifies its necessity in good health, fitness, and active lives. Promoting dance for men would be an excellent way to inspire fitness fun without the work which also leads to more intimate communications, the full circle of intended human relations that creates inspiration and motivation. Sports clubs and sports are not the only locations for fitness, and fail miserably to produce interaction fitness.

T-Racks & Protools 001 visibility issuee

I just upgraded my mac os to 9.2.2. Since that time, for some reason my T-Racks does not see my ProTools hardware...cant figure out why.

I have had a lot of good luck with a freeware program called Dbpoweramp it will also change Mp3's into wave file and gives you a lot of control over file size too!

I'm trying to make an audio CD on Nero but it won't accept my .rmj files. How do I change .rmj to .wav or something similar which can be burned and then listened to on a CD player?

Mine says that the _AIL_set_stream_volume_levels@12 is missing.. And when I fixed it, it told me that mss32.dll was not a valid windows image. :P

It sounds like you're using cracked copies, the only
solution is to buy the legitimate software.

Cubase Guitar Recording

I was searching on the net for how to just record guitar onto cubase and i found a post on this site, however i dont understand the answer so i am asking the question in my own way.

I have cubase and just want to record some simple guitaring onto it, i have tried plugging my guitar straight into the back of my comp (using an adapter) and then recording on the audio section and midi but both were silent, then i tried plugging my guitar into the amp and then putting a lead from the cd input hole in my amp to the back of my computer but again i didnt manage to record anything, help?!

Alright a couple of things.. what version do you have?? sx? vst?? that would be helpfull...

also the key is setting up your cubase for input. In the device menue fo to vst inpput and make sure your audio card - or wherever it is you are plugging into - is selected in the pull down menu. Because you are just using an ordinary audio card there is going to be loads of latency.. and alot of noise added into the line.. this is alright for just rough cuts. but you will be dissapointed with the quALITY. the best way to do it, would be to go out and grab a mic.. then just set it up infront of your amp and run it into the computer.

oh ya in the devices menu, you also have to configure the proper output.. again selecting the right card. You also have to make sure your recording on an audio trac.. NOT a midi one.

they're still hitting my bank account, most recently $179.00! All i can do is contest it and hope for the best...or so the bank says anyway, but that doesn't help the fact that i need that money to pay the bills and now someone else has it!
