Want better AWE64 MIDI Banjo, Mandolin sound
[The body of this post has been lost]
Re: Want better AWE64 MIDI Banjo, Mandolin sound
You were asking about some decent Banjo sound samples. I hope you have found some by now. I have a 66KB file that you could have, assuming you are using AWAVE, or some kind of similar software that will allow you to incorporate the samples into a user defined soundfont. If you have better (usually larger), I would like your cooperation in turn, to pass it on to me.

2 soundcards on one system?
[The body of this post has been reconstituted from replies so it may differ from what was originally written.]
I bought a cheap Ess Audiodrive soundcard, free with a rebate. I installed the thing, and.... the system doesn't recognize it at all. Even the |<rappy wave editor that came with it plays through my soundblaster!I need to know if I can use two different soundcards on one system (win95), and how I can do it.

[The body of this post has been reconstituted from replies so it may differ from what was originally written.]
i/ve just recently bought cubase vst 3.5 and i need some sound (heh heh) advice on an affordable and reliable soundcard with a minimum of 8ins/8outs that comes in a seperate unit.....so i don't have to plug a bunch of shit into the back of my computer. All advice from you would be greatly appreciated. I have no knowledge in this area. Please reply.....au revoir
Re: i need multi-out/in soundcard advice
Hi,
I have a M Audio Delta 1010; it is 8 in 8 out analogue plus sp/dif in and out. 24-bit 96kHz capable, great sound. Converters are in a 1U rackmount with balanced jack connections at +4 or -10 dB (pro quality stuff). Latency can be as little as 3ms.
Sounds like just what you need!
Oh yeah, it has a MIDI port too, bonus!!
hth,
Matt

Re: DJ Power only for mixing. Don't know anything for edit
On the Mac side there is a product called MacAmp DJ that effectively allows you to beat mix mp3 files.
MacAmp DJ is quite a hard application to get hold of, usally only available on Hotline servers which can be found using the superb Hotline client software which is available for Mac & PC from www.hotlinesw.com
Other platforms use Hotline clone software, try www.troutmask.com, goto links for more info.
Once you've downloaded Hotline client to a search for the desired software at www.hotlinehq.com and just simply copy and paste the IP address over to your hotline client software.
There is a similar product for mixing mp3's for Window's at www.mixman.com, then goto demo's
Re: DJ Power only for mixing. Don't know anything for edit

Re: I NEED AN MP3 EDITOR

its called multiquence...but you have to buy it because the demo only allows you to edit 45 seconds worth of a song unless you dont plan on burning it

I need a mp3 bitrate changer
does anyone have a program that can change the bitrate on an mp3 file if you could help me out i would appriciate it thanks.
Re: I need a mp3 bitrate changer
I use Total Recorder 3.3 with "Lame" encoder. You can open a file, set the parameters you want and then save to a new file with the new parameters.
: does anyone have a program that can change the bitrate on an mp3 file if you could help me out i would appriciate it thanks.
yeah, so do i!!!
it'd be pretty nice to be able to change mp3 bitrates without having to decode and re encode them again... so i can save space by changing all the 224 and other ridiculously high bitrate mp3s ive downloaded from people... anyone know of one? or how to use existing programs in a similar way?

AKAI S2000 Operation
[The body of this post has been reconstituted from replies so it may differ from what was originally written.]
Is there anyone who is familiar enough with the Akai S2000
to explain in a fairly simple way how I can:
1) Sample a sound, assign it to a key
2) Sample another sound, assign it to a different key
3) Sample another sound, etc.
4) Get them ALL to play back via ONE MIDI channel (say 9)
The manual does not tell you how to do this in any kind of
clear way, and it seems that this most basic of
operations should be simple. I have been using MIDI for
some years and have read the manual about 5 times...I'm
going nuts...can anyone help?
Thanks....

EASY! All you have to do is set up a keygroup (KGRP) when in MULTI mode. Check out www.akai.com/manu.htm for a complete manual explanation of this process!
