Say what? Use English, please. Someone recommended this software to me. They had been using it for a while and loved it. I'm just at a loss as to what "carbonize" means, and why can't I use this when running OSX? What does Native mean?

this is dirty cheap and quick. Its great for making loops. im sad they arent going to port it.

I know it can be done...but am not familiar with all the cords and where they go from tuner to hardrive to turntable....Need the basics if anyone has the patience to tell me!

Jessie, it's not too complicated (especially if you're on a Mac). If you're using a mixer w/ your turntable(s?) you can run an RCA cable from the output on your mixer (master output which outputs bouth channels) and go to RadioShack and buy yourself a $3 RCA to headphone jack converter (it's probably not actually called "headphone jack", but it plugs into your headphone/mic jack on your computer - you know what I mean). That takes care of running audio into your computer pretty easily and cheaply and will give you (in my humble experience) ample results. Oh, you can also plug that headphone jack into your audio out (headphone jack) on your computer and run the RCA cables into your input on your mixer and play streaming audio etc. on your stereo and even record it to tape. If you aren't using a mixer, or the setup I just described doesn't work for some reason, you can run the RCA cables from the output on the back of your stereo into your computer mic jack with the same Radio Shack gadget.

I'm a bit of a coder myself, computer litterate so to speak, and this program has great effects but the coding is nasty. They didn't fully translate the thing from German, and every once in a while you'll get fatal errors. I must have it to do my audio editing but the programming makes it a real hassle.

Jay, you can download a very comprehensive freeware by the name of PROTOOLS made by DIGIDESIGN - do a search for PROTOOLS and you'll find it. I've recently been on a quest for knowlege on this same topic. Several people had said that this software was a "sort of industry standard" which is the catch phrase I was looking for. It"s a little difficult to configure, and it's complicated (in my opinion - someone who didn't go to school for four years studying MIDI interface) but it works and it's free. You can do a mad shitload of stuff with it, or you can just RIP audio to digital files. It comes with a 400 plus page PDF user guide as well so you can learn about stuff you really don't want to know about.

I've used Coaster to record from an analog tape. It has a good sliders for adjusting input volume. You can find it all over. (Probably at versiontracker or some other software website)

I have InTune which I have used to take out a lot of the noise and static that usually accompanies an analog recoring. You can get it on hitsquad.
