Please help. I have an old computer in my room, a Mac, and a printer that MAY be connected to it if they can get the disk to do it with. I have used computers to write, play, and print music in class for grades 3-6, but with this set up I am limited. Can anyone give me the names of some shareware or 2.5 (MG) programs that I could use to let the students compose, play, and print their compositions? The MG capacity seems to only be 2.0. I have tried to download demos of Music Ace, but it won't fit on the disks. When we get internet, I can show it to them.

You want to teach, but you don't even know how to learn. You are a leecher, not a teacher. Why not go on welfare instead? Or take some computer courses? Or throw out your stupid Mac in favor of a real computer? Or go to the library like a real scholar would? Or BUY a program?

Try a program called Ohm Studio. It is a DAW which allows collaboration on your project online with other musicians! And please, if you can't contribute something constructive in this post, just PLZ STFU!!!

Go get a better soundcard, at least get a software synthesizer: www.yamaha.co.uk and find your way to the S-YXG100 software synth.

Your soft synths are not up to par with your sound. I've uploaded a few songs I've composed completely within MIDI using my laptop. Go check them out. The problem is not your soundcard, but the synths you employ in your music.

Well, I change my mind-- the author has made it shareware for no real reason. The 5.0 version offers more, but why pay for it? It exemplifies poopiness at its greediest. Yes, I said poopy. I'll say it again: POOPY. There. Are you happy now? I'm not. I don't get why these authors do this to us common folk.

Look at it this way... You put months of hard work into something that you are passionate about. You hope that it will benefit other people too. Initially, you are happy to give away the results of your hard work because you are still developing it and could do with the feedback. After a while, you find that people are finding your work useful and want further improvements. But your ethusiasm is waning and you feel that you've done enough. But still people want more, and you feel you're letting them down by not putting more work into it. The work is now a chore, so you feel it is about time you are rewarded for all your hard work and decide to put a small price on it for the benefit of those people who find the program useful and want future improvements and support.

How many hours a week do YOU work for free, just for the benefit of other people (complete strangers, even!)?? I'll hazzard a guess that your answer will be close to zero.

Have Download Accelerator Plus 4 and win98, yet always get the message that the file I require are in fact HTML's, so I cannot proceed.

Any suggestions?

Disable your download manager, the site has a script to discourage unathorized directs links.
Just use your old explorer to download them.
