I am trying to push an http stream to my server provider using media encoder 9. I am getting the titled error, which says:

"The Server service that received the HTTP push request is not a compatible
version of Windows Media Services (WMS). This error may indicate the push
request was received by IIS instead of WMS. Ensure WMS is started and has
the HTTP Server control protocol properly enabled and try again"

What do I need to do? Or...what does my server provider need to do to get our stream communicating? Thanks

When I ran into this issue, the server's IIS was running (accepting requests on port 80). I wasn't aware that WMS needed that port for this purpose, and I'll bet most folks aren't. WMS Help (believe it or not!) answered my questions, but if you'd rather have it here:
1- disable IIS on the server
2- enable WMS HTTP Server Control Protocol

Simple stuff...
(1)If you have a voice modem plug in your headset setup your encoder session (I use the 6.5k option)
start your telephone dialer software. Start recording and dial the number....you might have to play around a bit to pickup the correct input sound source for encoder.
(2)you can buy a telephone pickup microphone at most electronic stores...tandy or radioshack should have it. It sticks to a hand set. Then setup a media encoder session. Plug in the mic, start recording and dial the number. If you sound card has problems with the microphone record to tape and transfer later.

wat u need is to get a program that converts mp3's to a wav file, musicmatch jukebox has the capabilites to convert mp3's to wav

(SVCD, AVI with whatever codec you have, or custom MPEG1 format.)

It's $35 but free to try for 30 days.

Hello, I just got this new camcorder, I loaded video on to my computer it automatically makes them a .wmv, I want to copy them on to a dvd and play them on my dvd player but I cant figure out how to do it. I made them into .avi and into .mpeg. It still didnt work on my dvd player only in my computer.

I heard that TMPGEnc converts asf file into Mpeg file. Can u tell me the version of it. Becoz I found out that the latest version doesnt support asf format.Also can I get the source code for TMPGEnc of the same.

Don't worry, before converting from WMV to MPG, let TMPGenc can see the WMV movie in the way rename the .WMV to .ASF! It works completly.

I have tried to rename the .wmv file to .asf and tried to convert the .asf to mpeg file, but the tpmgenc doesnot recognise the .asf file also. it gives a message saying that the file is not supported.

it does supprt wmv, just not the latest version

the current release of TMPG will reognise windows media 8 files, but not 9.

you need to find some sort of plugin, or codec that recognises windows media 9 files

To make the file with the .asf extension, open up one of your folders in my computer....Click on the tools bar at the top of the page..after that...click folder options from that drop down menu....click on the view tab at the top of the box that just popped up.
Under The hidden files and folders sub folder, click on the box that says hide extensions for known file types
that's all
