Mixing Midi and WAV

The best way is to convert MIDI to Wav which can be done if you have a combo MIDI-Wav software like Cakewalk, N-Track, etc., through one sound card. You go to the the soundcard recording window, select MIDI as your output, go back to your software, open a new audio track, hit record with the MIDI track playing, then it's recorded. Then you can mixdown.

There must be a better way. This "record your own soundcard" bit only works on cheap soundcards. We need software that will allow us to render wav files from a mixture of Wav Midi and perhaps even Mp3. I find this problem a constant pain.

<Beeep>>> Wrong. ASP files are basically the 'default' Winblows format. If you want to convert them to mp3, just bring up a DOS window, and rename every *.asp file to a *.mp3 file. Done.

Yeah, it's unfortunate that it happens to be an extension used in programming. You don't have to use dos if you don't know how. WinRAR for some reason displays and edits file extensions in its browse window, which works fine.

How do I take my mp3's and convert them to wav format? The CDR I have won't recongize the mp3 format so it won't record them onto a cd for me.
