Software Description

WAVmaker turns MIDI files of virtually unlimited polyphony and complexity into CD-quality WAVs with perfect timing precision, using fully editable instrument patches and samples of virtually unlimited size, without the noise and distortion introduced by conventional recording: the rendering process is performed entirely in the digital domain, independently of your sound hardware. In fact, you don't even need a sound card to run WAVmaker! The WAVs produced are ready to be burnt on CD, uploaded to a website or processed further (e.g. mixed with recorded vocals). All registered WAVmaker packages include the GSound 44 General MIDI and GS instrument library: a CD-ROM with full, ready-to-use GM and GS sets consisting of 3+ MB PRG patches and 261+ MB 44.1 kHz, 16 bit WAV samples! WAVmaker Plus adds a Mellosoftron key for easy patch creation/editing and real time performance. WAVmaker Studio also includes an Ace of WAV key for advanced sound editing and synthesis.

Wasted all afternoon downloading files
from POLYHEDRON, or whatever they're called,
so I could try out their WAVMAKER software.

NONE of their evluation programs work, because they don't have the required .PRG libraries in the
so-called "evaluation" software programs!

What kind of JOKE is that??
Not a good way to build a happy customer-base,
to waste a lot of time/energy, only to find things don't even work right off the bat, and, by the way, that remark in RED INK on their website about "savagely butchered" files suggests that the software developers at POLYHEDRIC or whatever they're called have more than a little hostility going on...

sheesh.
and I just wanted to make a little music!

I know how you feel. I went through the same ordeal myself. Right now I am trying to locate some PRG's so I can finally make the things I wanted to.

Dear Sirs or Madams,
I know I am writing to the wrong address, but the employee who operates support @polyhedric. com has announced that he has killfiled me, so I have no other way to transmit this message in his general direction:
I was indeed acting as a jerk. The information your support person provided me with in his second ("killfile") message made the situation clear, but I had been suspecting most of the day. My exhaustion at the time of my original message was indeed no excuse.
I only wish to point out that while it is proper to point out that a person is being thoughtless or rude, assaulting their names is not a way to cool-down the situation. This is what led to the nasty tone of my second message. A simple matter-of-fact statement would have been preferable; despite my rudeness I am actually a reasonable fellow.
Beyond that, I have no defense of my unreasonable behavior, nor do I expect forgiveness. It is necessary to my own peace of mind that I admit the rightness of your charge, and that I should keep my temper in check and pay more attention to the details on my side of the correspondence.
I am sure that Your product works well in the hands of more capable technicians, and I am pretty sure now that there is a ddll component missing on my hard drive that has nothing to do with your product.
I apologize. Please find some way to notigfy the person at your support address. I will post this apology on the reviewboard of hitsquad.com to make it public.

That's an encoder/decoder, not a conversion device!

If I register will your program convert my midi files as easily as the ones supplied in the demo? I attempted to convert one of my own files and got an error message about PGR 1. Is this a problem with unregistered demos or am I missing something

I can't render a midi to a wav because 54.PRG is missing. A message here say that there is software to make prgs but what are they and what does it have to do with midi to wav conversion?

Most all software that runs on Win 95 can run on Win 98, it is backwards compatible
