Software Description

TablEdit is a program for creating, editing, printing and listening to tablature and sheet music (standard notation) for guitar and other fretted, stringed instruments (now supporting instruments up to 12 strings). Additionally, TablEdit supports tablature and standard notation for harmonica, mountain dulcimer, diatonic accordion, drums, violin, and banjo (even taking into consideration the special aspect of the fifth string).
TablEdit can open/import ASCII, MIDI, ABC, Bucket O' Tab, Tabestry and Wayne Cripps files, as well as files created by earlier versions of

TablEdit. Files can be saved in TablEdit format or exported to ASCII, ABC or MIDI formats.

Support for English, Deutsch, Français, Español and Svenska.

  • Editing of tablatures for Tin Whistle and Recorder

I know someone that had the same problem. They installed a program that let them run Windows Me in a virtual environment within XP. Then they installed Encore into Me and it ran fine. Any files (MIDI) that he wanted to run in Encore he shared between the operating systems like a network. Quite an involved and probably expensive (software)solution, but it worked for programs not compatible with XP.

fiddle guru is okay however, the tabs do not seem accurately noted

also try http:\\didacool.free.fr/violon/violin.htm

you have to scroll down a ways on that page to find it

other than that, i'm still searching also
