Software Description

SynC Modular is a modular software synthesizer.

Features:

  • High Performance: The performance of SynC Modular compares to the performance of non-modular software synths. This means higher polyphony and/or patch complexity.
  • Flexibility: SynC Modular allows you to create your own oscillators and filters (using Z-1 modules of course).
  • Multi-timbrality: SynC Modular allows you to have as many as 16 parts playing together. Each part can select a different instrument in realtime by receiving a MIDI program change.

I don't use any other synths since I got Sync: and since the audio input was added I hardly use any other FX either. Unbelievable value for the money!

A great way to start learning to use this powerful synth construction language is to download the many amazing synths already invented by other users, including a phenomenal FM synth that can translate and read DX7 patches (there are thousands) These instruments will give you an idea of the range and power of SynC.

It also makes beautiful WAV recordings of itself or works as a VST plugin

Also, it works happily on (relatively) slower computers without exhausting the CPU

Superb programming underlying this tool!

this sounds great, and its really in depth, but something like Vaz is 100 times quicker to patch up from scratch.

More powerful than Reaktor at about one tenth of the price. Better get ready for a steep learning curve.
This is gonnna be the one that shows what modular synthesis really is.

This is definately a serious synth.
A little tough to figure out (just me?) but excellent documentation-'getting started" is a must read.
I like the sound a lot more than some other soft synths and the learning you gain is worth it.
A must have.
I have the freeware version.
But probably worth the $49
