Software Description

SawCutter 1.0 is a software synthesizer and wave editor created to explore new ways of designing sounds. Waveforms can be hand drawn and aren't fixed to the standard types (sine, sawtooth, square and triangle.) Instead of creating envelopes using the standard four parameters (attack, sustain, decay and release) the envelopes are also hand drawn to allow arbitrary shapes. Several banks of effects are included and can be adjusted in real-time. External sound files can be loaded into the program and run through the same envelopes and effect banks, just like regular waveforms. To help in creating songs, a sequencer consisting of four instruments and ten note banks is included.

If you're looking for a free MIDI sampler...

This program is not useful if you want to load in your own samples. You might want to try to search for a free sampler if you want to add drums or if you want to hear sounds that were not in a softsynth that you have. I think that this program can't be called a MIDI Software Tone Generator and Sampler and IMHO (In my humble opinion), even though it's a sequencer but it's not really a MIDI sequencer. This is my opinion, by the way, but I'm not really looking for a sequencer (even though I do have a software MIDI sequencer).

this program justgets better and better, its excellent! a couple of suggestions for future development...there aly eight sequence spots, as far as i can work out, and the sequence seems to disappear if you play it straight through, this is a little annoying. a few more pre-programmed waves would be handy, but i suppose i should do a little of my own work and create my own hey! thanks for the great program and keep th freeware coming

I love this synth ! It's intuitive, powerful, sounds good, fast download and the best of all, FREE !!!!
It's an excellent option for those that don't have lots of money to spend in that expensive soft synths and just want to create unusual e different sounds easily and sequence them(Stomper it's also great, but can't sequence... )
Congratulations to the author that, I hope, will keep developing this great tool !
