The SHS-101 is a software synthesizer in combination with a drum machine. It's intended to be used to create basslines and drums for songs in order to export them as a waveform. Then you can use it, for example, as a track in a harddisk-recording studio for further editing. But due to the wide range of different sound setups as well as live controllable & recordable controllers (also controllable by MIDI devices) it's now possible to create whole songs with it or use the SHS-101 live on stage.
