Software Description
The Rangebastard from Distorque is a free treble booster effect plug-in based on the classic Dallas Rangemaster hardware.
It emulates a Germanium transistor treble boost by the name of Dallas Rangemaster which was developed in the 1960s. Treble boosts are used by popular guitar players to drive a distorted tube amp for more distortion while boosting the upper mids, resulting in nice band cutting guitar tone. To keep it short, this effect is used to ensure that the Guitar sound is heard or cuts through the mix.
The Rangebastard plug-in has added controls for more detailed tone boosting, and can be used as an overdrive or a full-range booster. It can run in stereo or mono and has a 2x oversampling which is always on. An example of it's enhanced control is that users can even select the right pickup within the Tweak menu to match their guitar for a more accurate tone boost.
Other Features:
- Main Controls: On/Off switch Boost.
- Tweak Controls: Input Filtering, Pickup, Input Level, Transistor, Stereo/Mono, Treble, Grid Current.
- Mono and Stereo Mode.
