Software Description
The PIE compressor is the result of Waves Audio and Eddie Kramer's collaboration, it is a virtual bus compressor that is modeled after a vintage Pye compressor.
The original vintage Pye compressor was part of Eddie Kramer "Golden Audio Chain". He used it extensively at the acclaimed London Olympic Studios. So when Waves Audio decided to recreate the classic sound produced by this vintage compressor, they worked with the man that worked with it to make recognized music hits.
The Waves PIE plugin behaves much like the original Pye Compressor, producing compressed "analog"-ish sound. Aside from that it also features a built in VU meter with ultra fast refresh rates which recreates the feel of the original.
Features:
- Limiting and compression modes
- Realistic analog hum and noise
- Auto-makeup gain
- Up to 24bit 192kHz
- Stereo and Mono components
