hello i downloaded some music tracks from RealOne goldmember pass and i tried to make a cd from the tracks but all my players don't support the file type that the tracks are in ,it was a Music net file is there any way to convert that file to mp3 or wave or what ?Please reply ASAP i'm waiting thank you very much.

I need to convert some .asf files to .wav files--need a converter that will do that. My O/S is Windows ME. Any ideas?

i have the exact same problem, i want to convert a .asf file to an audio file usable in a CD player. even if i could get the .asf into another format which i could then convert into a CD file, that would be great.

Perhaps there is no such program. I wish there were as I too need to convert som asf files into wav or mp3 files.

There is, but the problem is MS wants to keep the ASF format to themselves. VirtualDub could do it (that is open ASF videofiles), but MS forced them to remove it.

So look for VirtualDub 1.3. The later versions have it removed ...

You can save then in plain AVI file (or export only the music to WAV). Or of course use an other format like MPEG.

There is also a second tool called 'asftools'. I have version 2.30, but it is very buggy, so I don't use it. But that one is still vailable I guess unlike VirtualDub 1.3.

ok, this is a pretty long way of doing it, but this works...

You can go to google.com and search for total recorder. Once you got that install it and everything and open your .asf in a program that can play it. Once your asf is playing quickly start recording it with total recorder. Let it run til its done recording. After its all done you will have a big .wav file with your audio which you can cut into smaller files with sound forge or just find a program to convert the big .wav to .mp3 then cut it up in sound forge..either way is fine, or any other way you wanna do it.
