Software Description
A CDDB-enabled music cataloger. Enter your entire CD and mp3-CD collection without having to type a single character! (requires an Internet connection and a CD-drive). For your mp3-files : specify in which directories they can be found and have the program scan these directories for you. You can search for your records in the freedb database with the artist name or the album title, then browse your collection to find out:
- what albums you have of artist X, and what's on them;
- what songs you have of artist Y and where you can find them;
- what versions you have of song Z and on what albums they can be found;
- which of your albums conform to a specific numerical value (e.g. year)
Features:
- automatic lookup (on the Internet AND IN A LOCAL COPY OF THE freedb!!!) of the contents of a CD;
- a basic CD-player is included, allowing you to listen to your CD while 'working' on your collection;
- scan mp3-CDs to get them into your collection;
- scan selected directories to find your mp3-files;
- a (limited) vinyl database is included;
- vinyl can be looked up in the freedb database by specifying (part of) the name of the artist or (part of) the album title
- import from / export to CSV-formatted files (readable by e.g. Excel).
- give the 'value' field a name of your choice
- get a detailed overview of the types of albums you have
