Software Description

Currently, the MODPlug Player supports the following file formats:

  • *.669: UNIS 669, 669 Composer modules.
  • *.AMF: Asylum / DSMI modules.
  • *.AMS: Velvet Studio AMS 1.x modules.
  • *.DBM: DigiBooster Pro modules.
  • *.DSM: DSIK internal format modules.
  • *.FAR: Farandole Composer modules (beta).
  • *.IT: Impulse Tracker modules.
  • *.MED: OctaMed modules.
  • *.MDL: DigiTracker 1.x modules.
  • *.MOD: ProTracker modules (4-32 channels, 15/31 samples).
  • *.MOL: Module lists, compatible with MOD4WIN.
  • *.MTM: MultiTracker modules.
  • *.NST: NoiseTracker modules.
  • *.OKT: OktaLyser modules.
  • *.PTM: PolyTracker modules.
  • *.S3M: ScreamTracker III modules.
  • *.STM: ScreamTracker II modules.
  • *.ULT: UltraTracker modules.
  • *.UMX: Music files from the game, "Unreal".
  • *.WOW: Grave Composer modules.
  • *.XM: FastTracker modules.
  • *.WAV: Wave Files (smaller than 16MB).
  • All the above when zipped (*.MDZ, *.S3Z, *.XMZ, *.ITZ, *.ZIP).
  • All of the above then compressed with RAR (*.MDR, *.RAR)

This is the best Mod Player EVER! modplug kills all competition, including mod4win! it has the features that'll rock the house down, like bass expansion, and variable usage controls. I can use it on my brothers 386, and it still sounds great!!!

low sound??

This might seem like an amateurish question, but is there any way to play the mods louder in this program? When I load a nice, crisp WAV file into ModPlug, it plays back at about half the volume. In fact, when I load the same MOD into, say, FT2, the track will play with a much fuller sound. Is there a way to get the same full sound out of ModPlug?

I've tried everything to maximize volume output during MOD construction and listening, to no avail. Is this problem unique to my system, or have others noticed this?

You must raise MTP's preamp (in General/soundcards) to the maximum, also raise it to the max in the General View in your module. There's also the AGC option, and you can always turn your volume up to get a louder sound!!!

Yep. I like it.
You need to know how to track mods for a start though, cos I couldn't see any instructions. Other than that, it seems to be about the same as Impulse Tracker or Scream Tracker, except in a friendlier and easier Windows 95 format.
