Software Description

MP3Cutter is a simple utility that enables you to cut out pieces of a MP3 without having

to decode that MP3 to a non-encoded PCM (wave)-file.

MP3Cutter cuts the MP3 at the frame level so it doesn't degrade the quality of your MP3.

Comment viewing options

Select your preferred way to display the comments and click "Save settings" to activate your changes.

First of all your program is a gift from god. I use it to chop up huge 73 minute mp3s into bite size 3-5 minute chunks. Anyway when I try to scan a certian mp3, as ordinary as any other, it hangs at "scanning file" and the entire program just stops responding. I have to ctrl-alt-del to get out. This is causing me great concern being that this certian mp3 is one of my favorites.. and I would love to have it on a cd but not as 1 huge 70min song. What is the problem? Thanks.

Well, this is a little "cosmetic" bug in my program.
The solution is to enter a FULL filename, thus complete with the MP3 extension.
So you need to enter "Music.MP3", not just "Music" at the "Save as"-dialog box.

Nope, at least not exactly.
MP3Cutter is only a program that let's you cut up a MP3 without having to convert it to PCM-WAV and
then re-encode it.
So things like fades are not available.

Technically speaking this would be impossible without using the "Decode-Process-Encode" way.

But it's possible to insert cuts with dialogs, etc. although this is something for the more
experienced user, since it's somewhat harder to
do (you'll need the "Paste" option for this also).
