Software Description
Lector from Waldorf is a VST plug-in vocoder.
The Lector is a tool for producers to manipulate vocal sounds. Lector's analysis filter bank splits the audio signal into up to 100 frequency bands, making room for a multitude of possibilities. From Robot sounds to whispering to what ever the production calls for.
For fun things like applying a melody line for vocal articulation, Lector has an integrated 16-voice synthesizer. Users can also export from other sources for the synthesis filter bank.
The Lector plug-in has an ergonomic user interface. It comes with special features and unorthodox parameters that allows for tweaking even the minute details. The fabled Waldorf multimode filter which is included has a slope of 12dB or 24dB. Lecter also includes a whitening filter that "bleaches" the signal before the vocoder applies its coloration, this works well for Choir applications. Lector also has a basic three-band equalizer for cutting and boosting preferred frequencies of the resulting sound.
Lector provides a more in depth vocoder manipulation for better results.
