Software Description
GSnap is an auto-tune effect. It can be used subtly to correct the pitch of a vocal, or, with more extreme settings, to create a robot-voice effect.
For GSnap to work effectively, the input signal should be monophonic, at a good level and reasonably noise-free. For example, a clean, mono vocal recording, without excessive noise or reverb. Effect plug-ins should be placed after GSnap in the signal chain.
GSnap starts off by detecting the pitch of the incoming audio. The Min Freq and Max Freq parameters help the pitch-detector by narrowing the range of frequencies it needs to consider. Also, the Gate parameter should be set so that the pitch-detector ignores background noise during "silent" passages.
The Speed parameter sets the number of wave repetitions required for positive pitch-detection. Lower values for Speed will allow faster pitch-detection, but will increase the chance of false detection. The default value should be fine in most cases.
Once a pitch has been determined, GSnap applies the specified pitch-correction. There are two modes of pitch correction: fixed scale and MIDI. Fixed scale correction has a fixed set of snap-notes, while MIDI correction is controlled in real time by MIDI data.
The Threshold parameter sets the largest pitch-shift that will be applied to the input. It defines a region around each snap-note that will be corrected to that note. The GUI shows the snap-notes and regions in effect at any time.
The pitch-detection and correction can be made to use a different reference frequency using the Calibrate parameter. This sets the frequency of A above middle C.
Additionally, GSnap will respond to pitch-bend and modulation MIDI messages to apply pitch-bend and vibrato. The Pitch Bend, Vibrato and Vib Speed parameters control these effects.
Changes in v1.1

Need help. Downloaded Gsnap to plugins file. opened Audacity. went to effects/ add. Gsnap listed as new. Highlighted and clicked enable. opened effects and not listed. Closed and opened Audacity and still not there. Everytime I enable it, it doesn't take effect. I go back into add/remove and it is listed as new.

T-Pain effect on Audacity!
How do I set it up to the T-Pain effect on Audacity?
Re: T-Pain effect on Audacity!
1. Download G-snap http://www.gvst.co.uk/gsnap.htm
2. Open GSnap folder and copy the files into My Computer/ Local Disk(C:)/ Program Files/ Audacity (whatever version you have)
3. Close all the folders you opened for GSnap and open Audacity.
4. Look at the Effects panel.
Re: T-Pain effect on Audacity!
For the Audacity folder put it in the Plug-Ins folder inside the Audacity folder.
Re: T-Pain effect on Audacity!
Follow this link to the GVST.com forum. The T-Pain settings are there:

Does this work on Cool Edit Pro 2.0?
Can anyone tell me if this will work on Cool Edit Pro 2.0 ?
It says it suports DX and VST but I cant seem to be able to figure it out.
Re: Does this work on Cool Edit Pro 2.0?
You have two options:
1) You could email the developer at (graham@gvst.co.uk) and ask if it works on Cool Edit Pro 2.0.
or
2) Just download the program and just test it out. If it doesnt work just delete the program off the computer.

How to download
When I try to open the file for Gsnap it says Windows can not open application. Can I have a bit of your advice on this please ?
And is there another program I will need to download or purchase before I get Gsnap ?
Re: How to download
GSnap is a plug-in, thus you need recording software. Once you buy it, download it, drag the file to the App/VST plug-in folder of your recording system. (Usually in your Program Files.) Hope this helps!
