Software Description

Standard MIDI files can have 3 formats: 0,1,2. Conversion is necessary if an application does not accept a format (many keyboards can't read format 1 and 2). This program shows MIDI file format of files in a directory in a list.

  • User can convert single files or select multiple files to convert at once
  • Contains help about file formats and their uses.

i wanted this pgm to convert standard midi files to type 0 for use with pianodisc system. the pgm reads them as type 1 and says it converts them to type 0, but they still read the same on the pianodisc - i.e. need type 0
any help please

First it is important to successfully download and
install GNMIDFMT. If you have problems to get the
demo to run on your computer then you would have same
problems with registered version.
For installing demo you need unzip tool (e.g. www.winzip.com, www.pkware.com ...)
if your system does not support extracting zipped files
into a new folder.

For demo download there are currently two
places available:
http://www.gnmidi.com/gnmidfmt.zip (Canada)
http://www2.iicm.edu/gnmidfmt.zip (Austria)

If none of these download locations work for
you then send email to info@gnmidi.com to
send demo by email.

Help me translate Dr.T .SNG files into .MID format

I would like to translate old .SNG files into .MID or any format useable with current software.

Files were created on a DOS/PC-XT machine running a Dr. T sequencer to play on an Ensoniq ESQ-1 synth (Told you that these were old files…)

Any help you can provide is most appreciated.

when i put my disk in the computer,my midi sequences from a yamahe psr-620 are read as your file(icon)..they will not play..or save as a midi file..or i can't use the program.. or how do i delete it from my computer? help!!!...thanks ,carl

GNMIDFMT demo menu Help/Help explains how to use
GNMIDFMT in section usage (same as gnmidfmt.doc).

Demo installation:
create a new gnmidfmt folder e.g. c:\gnmidfmt
unzip gnmidfmt.zip demo into this folder
start demo by starting gnmidfmt.exe

Demo uninstallation:
delete gnmidfmt folder
delete gnmidfmt.ini file from Windows folder

Casio file format

My Casio Keyboard WK 1800 stores files on disk in a format
with a file name extension of Cs3.
Does GNMIDFMT make tyhe conversion from a Cs3 to a MID ?

GNMIDFMT converts formats of standard midi files only.
.cs3 does not sound as if it would contain std.
midi data (like .mid, .kar).

Maybe Casio or http://www.giebler.com has a converter
for Casio format

which product would suit me

Which of your products with GUI interface should I buy if I need:
1)reduce/increase the volume of some selected tracks (and somehow identify tacks possibly)
2)converts smf-2/1 to 0
3)Transpose up/down for a specified number of semi-tones
4)fix/clean bad midi files
5)make midi-file longer by repeating melody chunks (or at least twice longer)

till 31.12.1999 told the registration form of v1.03
We did not change the price at this date, it will be valid
for at least another 3 month.

This program doesn't require a midifile library,
only mfc40.dll which is available on Win95, Win98, WinNT4.

maybe you mean an other program that requires
midifile.dll
