Software Description

Patch editor for Turtle Beach Pinnacle and AVM Apex MA-1 Synthesizer.

Imports .pbf, .krz and .sf2 files. Drum Kit Wizard. Modulator Editing.

If it will not start because it can not find a library (MSVCP50.DLL or OLEAUT32.DLL), download one or both of them from here: MSVCP50.DLL and OLEAUT32.DLL. Most people will not need them if they have installed MS software recently (i.e. IE4).

Everest "No reply from synth!" - Version 1.4A

I'm still getting the "No reply from synth!" poping up whenever I change a parameter in Everest 1.4A

But Everest 1.47 works fine (I have both versions installed on my system).

When I change the parameter, midi thru suddenly freezes in everest untill the dialog box pops up (sevral seconds later), at which time the notes that were played while the freeze was occuring suddenly come through all at once.
The parameter that was moved when the freeze occured DOES get changed after the dialog box pops up. But every single parameter changed makes this freeze occur every time you move it any amount.

Could this be a problem with my system?
It wouldn't seem so, because 1.47 works fine...
Mark, if it is a bug, please fix this as SOON as posible...

in version 1.49. Does anyone know where the information
for these NRPN's suddenly came from? Is it a reverse-

It's both reverse-engineering (done by me) and trial-and-error NRPN tweaking (done by Guenter Bruckmann) FX processor on MA-1 is quite flexible, but total absence of any documentation makes it so hard to use ...

everest setup

My apex pro is new, granted, and it didn't go in easy for sure, but it's finally making noise and whatnot. I'm trying to install Everest (I think it's version 1.47) and it does not want to recognize the Apex card. It gives me "no ma-1 chip detected" and business like that. None of the error messages correspond to the troubleshooting errors frequently discussed. Is there anyone out there with experience with this? I'm running W98 if that helps. And there IS still a small DMA controller error to fix. I'm also using the latest drivers fresh off of AVM's web site

I was wondering when using a sequencer program cakewalk pro 8, creating instrument definitions for the pinnacle sound card. I have created def. but when using sample store to load a wav file how do i get cakewalk to recognize the sample since it is not coming from a bank.. my banks sounds are fine it is just when using a multiple sample wav. the i cant get my sequencer to recognize it. any suggestions. also when is the release for 256 k program memory comming about. thanks.

: Go to the Turtle Beach site and download the Pinnacle Patch Editor to convert wav files to Pinnacle Bank Files (pbf's). Download the patchman.zip (manual) as well. U may need to download a 32.dll file which is avalable on the site if U get an error message after installing. Copy them to your TBS Pros/patchlib folder. I hope this helps. I have the Pinnacle and use it with Cakewalk 8.

The 256K upgrade is available. See the everest home page
for information.

It is sort of a pain to get Cakewalk to know the names of
the intstruments. You can export the cakewalk
instrument file (.ins ) for a particular everest bank,
and then load it with Cakewalk.

When getting into Mods editor and changing some attack and release rate (maybe it has nothing to do with that) Everest crash : "Everest caused error in modul USER32.dll" (translated from danish).

My USER32.dll is version 4.00.950 (24.8.95)
