I suggest this ONLY if youre serious. First you must buy an expensive scsi cdrom but not all will do. you can use ide but I dont suggest it for 2 reasons:
1: most importantly, the quality is going to be BAD with ide ~ it will be harder to read the graphics
2: the BEST program is scsi only

the BEST brand is Plextor, without a doubt but some sony work also here is a list from www.goldenhawk.com 's FAQ's that have been tested to read:
The following CDROM drives are supported for reading CD+G discs...

Plextor 4Plex Plus
Plextor 8Plex (not recommended)
Plextor 12Plex
Plextor 12/20Plex
Plextor 14/32Plex
Sony 76S (not recommended)
Sony 415 (only works well at 1x reading speed)

there are a lot of programs out there, but my favorite is SCSIRO cdg player.
it is the easyist and works great!

I am searching for a software which can play karaoke songs and the video(lyric) on TV.
I hope that the computer can store maybe more than a thousand songs in it.Songs maybe can select by using a remote control which either appear on monitor or even with key-in the code number of the songs that we wanted to play.
As i know that i have seen this type of programme(software) and equipment(remote control)
in my country (Malaysia).The lacking point that i see is just that each room needs a computer to show the name of the songs.
Can i know what are the software and remote control that they are using and where can i get it? Is there any software that are more powerful than the above that i mentioned or maybe can control more than 1 TV with using a server?

THE ONLY PROGRAMME I KNOW WILL ONLY PLAY CD+G DISCS BUT YOU WILL HAVE TO CONVERT THEM TO MP3+G WITH A PROGRAMME CALLED CDG RIPPER AND THE KARAOKE PROGRAMME IS CALLED PCDJ/KJ YOU CAN LOOK AT THIS SITE WWW.EMISSIONUK.COM

: I suggest this ONLY if youre serious. First you must buy an expensive scsi cdrom but not all will do. you can use ide but I dont suggest it for 2 reasons:

I am trying to copy cd+g - I have a Plexwriter 16/10/40A - Recently put in new harddrive and I can't find the software to reinstall.
Any ideas on where I may find this software? I have searched lots and can't find it.

CDG is not the same as CDR. CDG is CD audio plus Graphics. On a CDG the graphics are text that shows the lyrics of the song. If you are looking to make back ups of CDG's there is an excellent program called Disc Juggler. It is made by a company called Padus http://www.padus.com/
There are only a few CDR Writers that will recognize CDG's. The best one that I have found is Plextor. A very reliable Writer. The combination of the Plex Writer 16/10/40A and Disc Juggler will be perfect for you to make backups of your CDG's. One note. Most cd-roms do not recognize CDG's so you will either have to use the writer to read and write or get yourself a Plextor reader like the Plextor Ultra Max 40.
