Software Description
CDex can extract the data directly from an Audio CD, which is generally called an Audio CD Ripper or a CDDA utility. Of course you can do that also by recording through your sound-card.
However, recording by sampling the signal with your sound card implies that the signal is first has to be converted to an analog signal by the CD-ROM, which is fed into the sound-card and digitized by the sound-card.
In practically all situation the quality of the recording will be deteriorated (unless you have a CD-ROM that has a digital output of course). CDex on the other hand, is reading the digital audio data directly from the disc, which can be stored in either a WAV file or a MPEG (MP2 or MP3) sound file.

CDEX Performance
Trying to rip a 3 minute track takes 40 minutes to achieve 5% on my system with a TEAC 532S.
No answer in last two weeks from CDEX support.
Any ideas what could be wrong?

On some systems, CDex crashes during startup, this is caused by the Delrina Windows Codec.
You can circumvent the problem by disabling the encoder as follows:
During starup, CDex is enumrating all audio compression codecs installed on your system.
Very rarely, the existence of a particular audio codec apparently triggers this crash.
To resolve the most likely codec conflict, go to Control Panel->Multimedia->Devices->Audio Codecs,
search for and select a Delrina sample rate conversion codec (used by a program called WinFax),
and click Properties->"Do not use this codec". (I do not imply the fault is with Delrina.
I don't yet know why this conflict occurs, but I've seen this also with other programs.)
If you don't want to disable the Delrina Windows encoder, you can set the WinEncoder
variable in the CDex.ini file. However, when doing so, you can not use the
Fraunhofer Windows MP3 Codec. To disable all Windows Codecs, open the CDex.ini file
(located in the Windows Directory), and search for the following line:
WinEncoder=1
And Change it to
WinEncoder=0
Save the CDex.ini file, and you are all set.

I have recently bought easy cd creator 4 and found it great for ripping all of my albums to MP3.But after doing a complete system format and reinstall I seem to have lost this function getting only save as wave file , WMA file and all files the MP3 has gone I think I`ve lost a codec somewhere but I`ll be dammed if I can find it any help would be appreciated thanks, Phil

CANT GET PROGRAM TO RUN NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I DOWNLOADED THE PROGRAM SUCCESSFULLY AND INSTALLED IT BUT WHEN I TRY TO RU IT IT SAYS THAT I HAVE PERFORMED AN ILLEGAL OPERATION AND THE PROGRAM WILL BE SHUT DOWN>HOW CAN I STOP THIS FROM HAPENNING.PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!

I cant even get the program to download !!

This is a very impressive encoder.
The quality is better than most, it`s fast and for an all rounder, it cannot be beaten.
I have yet to find a flaw.

reading at sector #####" and/or apparent good ripping
just to output: "silence", or "high scratching hissing"
or "blips and blops with suggested musical background"

reliable and effective programme. Please do continue
improving if it takes charging a fee for it.
