you can open rsc files in a program called Metasequoia but i don't think it can open rsx files. I also neeed to know where i could find some rsd files. if you could E-mail me at jmparker@hotpop.com, i would greatly apreaciate it. Thanks a lot

try using an audio loop-back cable [or feature on some soundboards] and record in a wav recorder and then hit play on the midi. i used to do this.

I know this thread is ancient, but I post here in case other people are searching for ways to convert .rsc/.rsd files to .mid files.

I have had the same problem with converting files from a Roland JW-50 Music Workstation to MIDI, so I wrote a program to convert the files. The program is still very much beta; I have only tested it on JW-50 files, and only on Ubuntu - it should be fairly simple to port the program to Windows, though.

It is simple, but a pain. I used a program called Cubasis. You could probably do it with any of the cubases range of programs. You let the MT120 or similar modules play the midi file with it hooked up to your computer. It will record the song with the midi channel on 'any'. It saves it to the one file. Save it under a name. Close the file then reopen. It should come out in all the channelss and tracks. You may have to tweak it, by adding a bar with the program chnages in it. I should know, I had to do about 50 of them.

:There is (or was) a programme developed by Roland called Virtual MT designed especially to interface /convert files from the MT120 to SMF. I know because I've been speaking to Roland herre in Spain. The only problem is that it is no longer commercialized and it seems that they don't have (or are unwilling to make me) a copy. If anyone has a copy out there can you let us know. Cubase is expensive and as my MT 120 is unwilling to play my files now I'm stuck until I can find a copy of this.

I have the same problem and can totally relate to your dilema with the MT120 conversion to Midi. I cannot find anyone here who has a version of Virtual MT. Have you found one and would I be able to grab a copy?

There is a programyou can get called VIRTUAL MT
It will NOT WORK in XP. It will only work on a system using win98.
I do have a copy of this program somewhere and would be willing to make a copy and send it to you if you will cover postage. There is no guarntee that the program will work. It works on my old puter but not even roland will gaurntee it.

You can get ssplayer.exe, a dos based playback tool, which can extract MID from RMI with option.
