Software Description
Powerhouse all-in-one multimedia software offering conversion, ripping, editing, recording, burning, playback (including full playlist and full screen video support), and much more. Powerful, yet easy to use audio, video (VCD), and data CD/DVD burning are all fully supported. Other advanced features include video capture, video creation/combining/extraction, video editing, batch video processing, media management, audio merge, MusicID audio recognition, lyrics search, audio tag editing, CDDB/CDDB2/FreeDB support, and more. The audio content of video files can be extracted and saved to sound files, and frames can also be extracted to images files in batch mode. Video files can also be created from still frame images and/or other videos.
Supported conversions include: CD to WAV, MP3, WMA, and OGG; MP3/WMA/OGG/WAV/AIF/VOX/MP2/MPC/G.72x/AU/RAW to MP3/WMA/OGG/WAV; WAV/MP3/WMA/OGG to CD burning, WAV/MP3 Compression, and two-way conversions among MPEG-1, MPEG-2, AVI, WMV, Multi-Page TIFF, and FLIC. MPEG options are available for VCD, SVCD, and DVD compliant output. When converting from audio CD, track information can be dynamically downloaded from the CDDB and used to automatically name saved files.
Video editing is available for AVI (uncompressed), AVI (compressed using any available codec), MPEG-1, MPEG-2, WMV, and ASF. Comprehensive video editing operations are provided (delete frame, delete selection, crop, resize, rotate, mirror, flip, trim, text overlay, adjust audio volume, etc.). In addition, an extensive list of over 30 effects and color adjustment operations allow for powerful video enhancement and alternation. WAV, WMA, and MP3 audio files can be inserted into the video or extracted from the video; and BMP, GIF, JPG, PCX, PNG, RAS, PPM, TGA, and TIF are the supported image formats that can be inserted or extracted. Most video processing operations can also be performed in batch mode on a list of video files using the software's Batch Video Processor

Hey good stuff, thanks alot. the only problem i've got is that using the way you've described takes out the video. Step by step to the final "Enjoy editing your avi" and came out good sound .avi :) but no video, so I left in the video decompressor and it worked good...cept the size is horrid but then again you can use a compressor filter on it. .wmv 28megs ---> 2.3gb .avi (two minutes of clips), was pretty fast though, took less then 4 minutes.

i copy VCD to my HDD and know i wanna copy it on cd like VCD but VCD player did not run it,
what 's the problem
but the computer play it and vcd did not play it.

You should copy the VCD 1:1 with a CD copier program otherwise your DVD player won't see in the header of the CD that it use the VCD 1.1 or VCD 2.0 header. As of copying the .DAT files you can use the .DAT to .MPG conversion by downloading the VCDeasy program http://www.vcdeasy.org. What is does it is modifing the header of the MPEG 1 video file.

How do i copy a dat movie from Hard Disk to CD
I COPIED A MOVIE TO MY HARD DISK. NOW I WANT TO COPY IT BACK INTO A CD.
When i am trying to do so, the message coming here is that there is insufficent disk space in the cd. But I had earliear made a copy of the same movie by copying the same from a cd to cd.
Now why is this message coming that there is not sufficient space in the cd when i am trying to copy it from Hard disk to cd?
The cds used to copy from cd to cd and cd to Hard disk r of the same make and size
Please give a solution cause that movie cd is very imp.

problem is with pixel rating.
which software did you used to burn DAT to VCD?? at that moment itself you should be getting a warning if the DAT format is not in proper format in comparison with VCD. get "River Past Video Cleaner" and convert the DAT to AVI, do select propert setting for Video & Audio, then durn the AVI to VCD using Nero.

Here's how to convert WMV to MPG or MPEG
I'm sure there are ways to convert mpeg easily to avi or you may be able to use it itself.
Here's what you need:
-TMPGenc (an encoder)
-Windows Movie Maker (Came with my computer)
If you don't have MovieMaker, you might be able to dl it, I don't know.
1) Get your WMV - Edit it so its nice and pretty; the way you want it. Then, make a WMV video.
2) Combine clips - Open your WMV in Movie Maker. If you used MovieMaker to make it, open it anyway. What you need to happen is let the computer create clips over again. Now, combine all of the clips into one long one. If you read my earlier post, you know that the encoder freezes when a clip changes; to solve that, merge all of the clips together. Make it into a WMV
3) Run the encoder - Open TMPGenc. Your source is the second WMV you made (comprised of one clip). Once the encoder starts working, go get a drink, eat something. Be back in a few hours to your beautiful MPEG.
I'm sure there are other ways to do it but this is what i figured out. Please don't send me questions as I just worked this out and don't know too much about it yet. I found that http://www.vcdhelper.com found out the same thing as me. Send them your questions.

I also have an answer, I think...
To convert WMV to AVI (and/or MPEG 1 or 2, etc.), just download a FREE video editing program : "Movie X One" (http://www.aist.com/).
Despite its "trendy" (!) interface, it opens / reads WMV and WMA files and lets you convert them easily and rather quickly to other "classical" video formats.
Note : I am NOT advertising. I am just an other "usual user", trying to help, as I can't stand those impossible to convert files (terrible waste of time + energy). WMV won't even open in Ulead Media Studio Pro - though it's able to WRITE WMV files...

Okay, so I import my wmv file (352x288) and then do a straight rendering to huffyuv AVI.
It seems as though the vertical resolution is reduced by a factor of two and the missing lines are interpolated... know any way around this?

Blaze will do it but the files come out huge! (22mb to 1.2 Gig) To large to download from a web site. However if you are able to play with Blaze enough to get the files down to a managable size please let me know. Download from download.com

I Need Help with my mp3's!!!
OK. I just got this new cd burner. I was realy excited about it. But so I go into my napster and everything is saved as a .mp3. Well when I saved it there were 2 options either save it as a .psl (something to that affect) or a m3u. How can I get it to save as a .mp3? If anyone would know I would really appreciate it if you could e-mail me and tell me how! Please!

.asx to .wav conversion
I have a slew of .asx sound files I got and need to convert them to .wav on my PC. They read and play within windows sound player, but I can not edit them or even open them up in Sound Forge. Is there an easy way to convert them to .wav? I need them for a flash animation I am making so your help is greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for your help.

I have got Sound Blaster Live 1024 and I have the option to record whatever comes out of the speakers.
If you get this, you will be able to choose which program to use to record whatever comes out of the speakers and if you play your .asx file when you are recording whatever comes out of your speakers u will be able 2 save it as a .wav file.
