Software Description

Powerhouse all-in-one multimedia software offering conversion, ripping, editing, recording, burning, playback (including full playlist and full screen video support), and much more. Powerful, yet easy to use audio, video (VCD), and data CD/DVD burning are all fully supported. Other advanced features include video capture, video creation/combining/extraction, video editing, batch video processing, media management, audio merge, MusicID audio recognition, lyrics search, audio tag editing, CDDB/CDDB2/FreeDB support, and more. The audio content of video files can be extracted and saved to sound files, and frames can also be extracted to images files in batch mode. Video files can also be created from still frame images and/or other videos.

Supported conversions include: CD to WAV, MP3, WMA, and OGG; MP3/WMA/OGG/WAV/AIF/VOX/MP2/MPC/G.72x/AU/RAW to MP3/WMA/OGG/WAV; WAV/MP3/WMA/OGG to CD burning, WAV/MP3 Compression, and two-way conversions among MPEG-1, MPEG-2, AVI, WMV, Multi-Page TIFF, and FLIC. MPEG options are available for VCD, SVCD, and DVD compliant output. When converting from audio CD, track information can be dynamically downloaded from the CDDB and used to automatically name saved files.

Video editing is available for AVI (uncompressed), AVI (compressed using any available codec), MPEG-1, MPEG-2, WMV, and ASF. Comprehensive video editing operations are provided (delete frame, delete selection, crop, resize, rotate, mirror, flip, trim, text overlay, adjust audio volume, etc.). In addition, an extensive list of over 30 effects and color adjustment operations allow for powerful video enhancement and alternation. WAV, WMA, and MP3 audio files can be inserted into the video or extracted from the video; and BMP, GIF, JPG, PCX, PNG, RAS, PPM, TGA, and TIF are the supported image formats that can be inserted or extracted. Most video processing operations can also be performed in batch mode on a list of video files using the software's Batch Video Processor

rename the file *.m3u to *.mp3 then run it though
a converter to get better compression. Or convert it to wav and then mp3. Save it to c:\ so you can find it easy. OPen a dos window type ren at the c prompt and the file name mym3ufile.m3u myfile.mp3
If you try to do it from explorer it will give you
back the m3u extension anyway. I believe m3u and mp3 are near the same. Only m3u tells the server to stream it without first downloading all the file.

will someone tell me how to convert m3u files from mp3.com to mp3 files.......they dont let you download them but they have an hi-fi link....and all this notepad stuff isnt helpin at all..i copy it and put it in my notepad then i put it into my address bar on the net and it just plays the song....no downloading possible...someone doesnt know what there talkin about.....help this problem be resolved

A M3U is just a reference to a streaming MP3 file. Open the M3U file in notepad to find the URL of the actual file.

If you go to "http://www.geocities.com/myasftools/" you can download a free copy of the most recent "asftools310.exe" program from there. This will join WMV movies together and also convert them to AVI.

You can download a software call BlazemediaPro and it converts from WMV file to avi file. It works because I have done it.

You can use graph editor it can recommpres wma to avi divx or mpeg or other

OK, so those guys are full of details.

What is "Graph Editor"? It's actually GraphEdit and it comes with the Microsoft DirectX 8 SDK, which you get with MSDN or download from Microsoft's web site.

It lets you see and alter the path of software (codecs and drivers) used to read and play or write a multimedia file.

When I get GraphEdit, what do I do?

1) Use the File->RenderFile menu option to load in a file.
2) Remove the last two "filters" (or software components) from the graph. These default to your sound card driver and your video card driver. We don't want that, we want to convert to a different file format.

We'll do AVI, because that's what you'll want if you're using AVI editors to edit the movie.

1) Use the File->RenderFile option and choose your ASF file (can use WMV, etc)
2) The default graph is built for you
3) Delete any filters after (but not including) the Windows Media Audio Decoder filter
4) Delete any filters after (but not including) the ASF ICM Handler filter
4) Insert a new filter (Graph->InsertFilters) called "AVI Mux" from the DirectShow filters section
5) Link the ASF ACM Out to XForm In of Windows Media Audio Decoder
6) Link XForm Out of Windows Media Audio Decoder to Input 1 of AVI Mux
7) Link ASF ICM Out to Input 2 of AVI Mux.
8) Insert a new filter called "File writer" from DirectShow section and choose a file name
9) Link the AVI Out of AVI Mux to the In of your file writer
10) Right-click the AVI Mux filter and choose Properties
11) Choose the Full option of the Interleaving section and click OK (this makes the sound and video match up and is the whole point of the AVI format)
10) Press the play button
11) Wait until the play button is active again - this means the thing is finished (you can right-click on AVI Mux and look at the Current Position and Duration count to see how far in seconds the conversion has progressed during the conversion)
