Software Description

If you've ever wanted to make it sound as if an instrument is speaking, or you would like to get more expression into a robotic sounding voice, then AnalogX Vocoder is for you! It allows you to load up two wave files and modulate one based off the other for a very useful effect. The effect is very common in dance music, but can also be use to make sounds pulse with the beat.

AnalogX Vocoder outputs 16-bit/mono/44100 wave files and can load any sample rate and any bit depth mono wave files.

Quality Issues

Top marks to AnalogX for providing free software (HOW IT F***ING SHOULD BE!!!) ;), but no amount of tweaking seems to be able to remove consitent crackling of results.

Re: vocorder

can someone please tell me "exactly" (step-by_step) how to use the vocorder effect in the Korg Triton sampler/workstation. i'm trying to produce a sound similar to the Roger Troutman trademark. thank you.

I m ready to

Hello i need steinberg voice mashine badly
& i ready to change with you

Finally... Get paid for your MP3 downloads!!

I'm so sick of seeing bands and musicians having to give their music away!! No other trade is expected to do this. Our tools cost more than everyone else's!! A new Les Paul costs more than a new 1.5 gig desktop!! Yet WE are expected to just hand it all over. Do REEALLY think these Napster hearings are going to benefit the independant artists?! Not likely!! Well... After getting a "royalty check" for ninety-five cents, after having the top three downloads at a major MP3 site for three months, I'd finally had enough!! So I took up programming and hooked up with one of the world's top audio software programmers and we did something about it!!

We are proud to announce the release of PayWave. This incredible new software allows bands and musicians to demo their MP3 files for a limited number of plays. No one can pirate the tracks because the program disables their system's record function during playback. No on can play the track on another player, because the program converts the song into a non-audio file format that will only play on the embedded player until the song is paid for. To find out more and download a free demo, just go to www.tym2.com
You can also get a free multitracker just for checking it out!!
We'll be posting the software on the site later this week, but I wanted to start getting the message out. We can finally take control of our destiny!! This is an opportunity for ALL ONLINE MUSICIANS!!!!!!!! SPREAD THE WORD!!

THANX 4 THE VOCODER

Vocoder File Size Limit?

Hello,
I recorded a wav file of my voice saying 1,2,3,4 (about 2.5 sec) and processed it through the vocoder but I only got 1,2,3 back out. No "4". I tried several times and with several different samples (length 2.5 sec or more) and all with the same result. why? - Jeff -

maybe the file you are using to modify the sentence(1 2 3 4) is is too short for it try using a longer sample.....

A Brief Tutorial

If you're like me, you're always lookin' for new ways to create sounds hithertofore unheard on our beloved rock... Planet Earth. If you read my commentary above, you'll know that I think very highly of the awesome freeware offered by AnalogX.
Well, as I couldn't wait to get started,I opened up the Vocoder program and was delighted to find that it does exactly as promised!! The program comes with two sample waves, (One for each side, i.e. one carrier, one modulation.
Do not be alarmed when you hear the initial results of mixing these samples. A little tweaking provides some interesting effects. I was personally undaunted and proceded to record my own test samples. I'm presently working on a new song, so I simply spoke the title into the mic, (after setting my levels,of course), saved the file and picked up my guitar. I then played and recorded the three primary notes of the song at approximately the same tempo, and saved that file. My sound card records only in stereo, so I had to convert the waves to mono. (I used Creative Wave Studio, but any wave editor shoud suffice. (Don't forget to reduce your levels by half or the wave will clip by nearly half!!)
I then loaded the guitar sample into the carrier side, and the voice into the modulated side, tweaked the settings a little until the effect was ledgible and Voila... Success!! I got the precise effect I was looking for on the very first try!! I'm going to use it on the song, but for anyone who wants to hear it, I converted it to a 67KB MP3 file available on request by sending me an e-mail.

Good luck with the program, and if you need tech advice on many of the programs available here at SMM, feel free to contact me. (I've tried at least half of them!!) Have a good one!!

Re: A Brief Tutorial
