MP3 Tutorial: Changing MP3 to WAV
One common issue facing people when they discover the MP3 format is how to convert the MP3 format into WAV format.
While some may scoff at the idea of doing this, there are many people out there who use the MP3 format to transfer samples and loops across the Internet. After all, with MP3 you can compress a file to a size which makes downloading a relative breeze.
So, with this in mind, how do we convert MP3s into WAV files and what software should we use? If you've got Winamp you can turn an MP3 into a WAV with ease.
After you've opened Winamp, click your right mouse button while the arrow is over the Winamp face. You will see a menu pop up. Select 'options' and then 'preferences'. In your Winamp 'preferences' window, you will need to select the 'output' folder.
Yes there is, you can decode a MP3 into a wav file with L3dec, you can find it on the encoders page. But there are also mp3 players that can decode MP3s into WAVs.
Winamp is one of them. Go to the "prefs", then "output" and select "WAV file output".
