Sennheiser joins the "David Bowie Is" exhibit and releases the Special Edition Momentum headphones.

As a sponsor and partner of the "David Bowie Is" exhibit, Sennheiser releases these special headphones as tribute for Bowie's 50 years of music and art.

These limited run headphones come with the "David Bowie Is" exhibition hardback book and they feature some visual changes that pay tribute to David's style and music. Most prominent of which is the orange detail stitching and the orange ear-cup interior.

This special book is designed to complement the exhibit, featuring a variety of David Bowie performance costumes and design artwork. The content spans his entire career, from his beginnings in London, through his break through projects as well as his impact on avant-garde art.

These headphones follow the same specifications as the production model Momentum. They are dynamic closed-back headphones that feature neodymium magnet drivers. They have an impedance rating of 18 Ohms, with a frequency response of 16Hz - 22kHz. It can handle sound pressures up to 110dB SPL.

The headphones come with two cables, one with 1/8" mini-jack connector and an iPhone compatible one that features a built-in remote control and microphone.

Sennheiser is assigned to provide the immersive 3D Audio experience in the exhibit. They utilized their guidePort audio guide system and Aura 3D headphones to integrate the sound and narratives, with the visual aspects of the exhibit. Phil Cummings, Sennheiser UK project manager, commented: "Innovation and expertise are two of the attributes we associate ourselves with at Sennheiser - a heritage which is well matched with that of Bowie's career. We are passionate about sharing great sound, and the calibre of artists using our products, both past and present, is truly inspirational."

The "David Bowie Is" exhibit started last March 23, 2013 and will to run until the 11th of August, 2013. There will only be 500 pairs of the David Bowie Special Edition Momentum, with each one having a price tag of £329.99. For more details, you can head over to Sennheiser.
