Pioneer introduces the S-DJ X Series of active monitor speakers especially designed for DJs who mix dance music.

The series comes in three models that are sold individually - S-DJ50X (5" Woofer), S-DJ60X (6" Woofer) and S-DJ80X (8" Woofer).

These new DJ speakers from Pioneer are designed in cooperation with Pro-Audio sub-brand TAD, featuring aramid fibre woofers that emphasize the lower frequencies better.

Aramid fibre is known for being stiff, this allows the speaker to reproduce the lows with better clarity and punch. The woofers are mounted directly to on the baffles to output the bass directly at the front, which helps reduce unwanted resonance. The bass reflex ducts are added with "grooves" allow for even more bass frequencies to pass through.

Supporting the woofer are 1-inch soft dome tweeters that use DECO convex diffusers from TAD. These contribution helps deliver the sound with a wider sweet spot, matching the power and reach the that woofers provide. High frequency level control is also provided, you can adjust the treble levels (-2dB/-1dB/0dB/+1dB).

Powering S-DJ X series is a newly designed AB bi-amplifier, which are incorporated in the tweeter and woofer units. The amp was redesigned to ensure balanced response and improve clarity.

Rounding of the features of the S-DJ X series is the smart and nifty auto stand-by with Auto ON functionality. It switches to stand-by when no input is detected for 25 minutes. It then automatically powers up when input is detected. This eliminates the need to reach for the on/off switch. Connectivity options include XLR, TRS phone, and unbalanced RCA.

The S-DJ X Active Monitor Speakers are expected to ship at the end of September 2013 with a price tag that ranges from 149 to 249 Euros depending on the model you pick. You can find out more by visiting Pioneer DJ.
