Mackie Expands SRM Powered Speaker Line
Mackie introduces two new SRM series speakers, the SRM750 1600W Dual 15" powered loud speaker and the SRM2850 1600W Dual 18" Powered Subwoofer.
These two new models have the same features and technology as the other SRM Professional Series speakers. They feature a 1600-watt amp design with custom transducers that are housed inside all-wood cabinets. They add to the existing lineup that includes the SRM1850, SRM650 and SRM550.
Mackie SVP John Boudreau says, "These are truly the big boys of the SRM family, with the raw power and speaker configurations that high-output applications demand. The powerful dual-woofer designs can really move some air. They're perfect for festivals and clubs. Stack two SRM2850 subs with an SRM750 on top for an amazingly high-output and great-sounding stacked PA."
Mackie SRM750
This new powered speaker has two 15" speakers and features the company's HD Audio Processing technology. At the core of this tech are patented acoustic algorithms that are utilized by the build in digital signal processor (DSP) for sound enhancement. The company says that by correcting unwanted frequencies, the resulting sound becomes smooth and clear, of which they describe as being high-definition.
SRM750 comes with system optimization tools, most notable of which is the feedback destroyer, which automatically protects your speaker from unwanted and damaging feedback. There are a number of speaker modes available, they increases the speaker's flexibility so that it can work in various venues and applications. Wrapping up the features of this speaker is the integrated 2-channel mixer interface. It has Mackie Wide-Z inputs that can handle various types of sounds with ease.

Mackie SRM2850
This new powered Subwoofer houses two 18" speakers that are designed to move some "serious air". It has a 1600 watts of power and features the same all-wood design as the other SRM series speakers, only this time it is fine tuned to better handle lower frequencies. The company says that this is ideal for bass-hungry applications, specifically music genres that puts emphasis on lower frequencies.
It has variable crossover so it can work with your existing speaker setup and it comes with Smart Protect DSP so you won't inadvertently damage the speaker. According to the company, "the SRM2850 delivers massive amounts of hard-hitting lows. Great for high-output, stacked rigs at festivals, clubs and other live sound applications, the SRM2850 is a rock-solid dual 18-inch subwoofer with proven Mackie performance."
