Lewitt Provides Mics for Open Mic UK 2013
Vienna-based microphone manufacturer Lewitt is now the sole provider of mics for Open Mic UK 2013.
Open Mic UK is among the biggest music competition for singers and solo artists, and they have entrusted the responsibility of providing quality microphones for their events to the Austrian brand.
Because of this recent deal, all of the Open Mic UK 2013 live shows will feature Lewitt branded microphones. They will also be giving away a Lewitt LCT640 vocal mic (worth £749) as one of the top prizes for the competitions winner.
The LCT640 is a studio quality large-diaphragm condenser recording microphone. It offers a dynamic range of 135 dB and stands out for its extremely low self-noise of 10 dB.
Combining a 4-level high-pass filter and a 4-level switchable pre-attenuation, this mic is designed to be a versatile tool in recording situations. Other features include automatic attenuation, key-lock, clipping history, push buttons and a light-up user interface.
Open Mic UK's Dave Payne said: "Open Mic UK is very excited to team up with this young mic brand as we ensure we use the best equipment on all of ours shows across the UK. We feel that the Lewitt microphone range will get the very best sound quality from the thousands of singers who enter our competition this year as they compete to make it to the Grand Final within the O2."
Just last year, Open Mic UK had more than 9,000 auditions. This year's competition is expected to be bigger and better, featuring the best vocal performers from around the UK. From the label itself, it is easy to deduce that microphone's will play a critical role. Lewitt Audio is happy to take on this responsibility, providing microphones that are reliable and designed to highlight the contestant's vocal prowess to the satisfaction of both the contestants, the judges and the audience.
The auditions for this year began in August, with regional finals scheduled for late September. Like the previous year's finale, the finalists will battle it out at the London's O2 venue in front of a great crowd, as well as key music industry people.
