Gearank.com is a website we're working on that provides a new way to find out about music gear that you're interested in adding to your kit.

When deciding which new piece of music equipment to get you might look at reviews and read forums to find out which piece of gear is likely to be best for you. It can be a very time consuming process and this is where Gearank comes in by doing all that research and bringing it all together in a single place.

Each item in the Music Gear Database is given a score out of 100 by analyzing reports and reviews by customers, owners and experts, as well as gauging the sentiment in popular forums - all this information is then put into an algorithm which produces the Gearank score.

Gearank scores and sentiment analysis are then used to produce Gear Guides which provide lists of the best music gear for a given purpose. Each product presented in a gear guide has a report on what important features and functionality were liked, and which were less well liked, when all the reports and reviews for it were analyzed.

Gearank.com is still in the early stages of development, however some Gear Guides are already available on the following topics related to both recording and live performance:
