Avid Fast Track Solo and Duo
Avid expands their portable audio interface line with two new iOS compatible interfaces - Fast Track Solo and Fast Track Duo.
The new Fast Track models are designed with portability and convenience as top priorities. Sacrificing the number of inputs to achieve smaller form factor and to provide home recording artists and musicians with a straight forward and easy to setup audio interface that they can use with their computers or tablets.
Fast Track Solo is now the most portable in their lineup, featuring just one mic preamp, ideal for recording acoustic instruments and vocals, or for a quick capture of live performances via a single microphone. Fast Track Duo on the other hand is slightly bigger, but still compact. It features two preamps, ideal for singer-songwriters who prefer recording both their instrument and voice simultaneously.
Both of the above-mentioned interfaces are USB powered and come with a dedicated iPad port for direct connection with this popular Apple tablet, without the need for a USB Camera connection kit. This allows on-the-go musicians to utilize the growing number of music production apps that are available on the iPad. Other features of the new Fast Track units include 2 gain controls, master volume, 1/4" headphones out and a nifty Kensington Security port.
Since they both come with Pro Tools Express, useful virtual instruments and effects are essentially included. You can quickly start recording right after opening the box and installing the included software. Session compatibility is ensured with Pro Tools and Pro Tools HD systems, which means you can continue working on your tracks by using professional Pro Tools software.
The Fast Track Solo is expected to retail for $179, while the Fast Track Duo is priced at B$299. You can find out more about the new Fast Track digital audio interfaces by visiting Avid.
