Music Computing have announced the 2nd generation of their StudioBLADE Keyboard Production Station

If you're not familar with the concept of Keyboard Production Stations, it's basically keyboard workstation that is connected to a computer all in one unit. This allows you to use your own software including your preferred DAW and Plug-ins.

StudioBLADE Gen2 comes with Windows 7 Professional (64-bit) preconfigured for music production, complete with piano keys, drum trigger pads, knobs, sliders, thousands of sound presets and pre-loaded software.

StudioBLADEs Gen2 are powered by high-performance computer cores utilizing Intel Xeon server platform processors that are perfect for demanding musicians and the virtual instruments and software application they use. Options include dual 6-core processors totaling 12-cores, up to 192GB of RAM, and up to 6TB of hard drive storage. All this makes the Gen2 capable of running over 2,000 plug-ins at once, sequencing thousands of tracks simultaneously, and storing millions of sound presets.

But you don't have to start at the high-end. Being totally scalable means you can begin with a base configuration of a single processor, one memory module and one hard drive, then add additional capacity as you need it.

The new Gen2 StudioBLADEs come in 61 and 88 key velocity-sensitive and semi-weighted action versions. Pitch and Mod wheels as well as octave up and down buttons with indicators are also included, with prices start at: $3,499.
