It isn't often these days that a major new music equipment shop starts up, however GearNuts.com recently appeared - they said their official launch was last Friday.

In the interests of disclosure I must point out that they have agreed to do some advertising on GuitarSite.com which is a site run by us here at Hitsquad.com, but I would have written this up in our news even if that wasn't the case, because it's newsworthy - particularly with their Ibanez giveaway.

The site has an entire section dedicated to Computer Audio and have many of the major names in software, hardware, recording, & DJ such as Ableton, Akai, Avid, Cakewalk, Image Line, Native Instruments, Numark, Pioneer Pro DJ, Sony, Tascam, Yamaha etc.

They had a "buy 1 get 2 free" deal on guitar strings, but according to their website it went viral (easy to see why) and they've run out of stock and had to pull the promotion before the weekend was over.

On the bright side however, GearNuts.com has a big Ibanez promotion that is still running with $3,900 worth of prizes. There will be two winners - the first will get an Ibanez Limited Edition JS20S Joe Satriani 20th Anniversary Signature Model. The second winner will receive an Ibanez Soundgear SR series bass, and an Ibanez P5110 Promethean 250-watt bass combo amp.
