Do you think you can write a better Christmas song than the traditional ones? If the answer is yes, maybe, or hell yeah, then this competition is for you!*

The audio equipment manufacturer Audio-Technica is behind this one, and they're putting up a first place prize of £500 or five runners-up prizes of £100 worth of Audio-Technica equipment.

The entries will be judged by Grammy & Brit award-winning record producer and chairman of the Music Producers Guild Steve Levine.

The online competition is not restricted to any particular type of music so bands, DJs or music producers from any genre can enter.

Audio-Technica is asking people to submit their entries, which can be up to five minutes long, to YouTube.

The best entries will be shared by Audio-Technica on its social networking channels. Alternatively people can upload their video clips to YouTube and email the link to AudioTechnica@deaddinosaur.co.uk.

The winning entries will be announced on Thursday 23rd December 2010
